Beth Moore coauthored two of the books within the series Units of Study for Teaching Reading, and the Units of Study for Teaching Opinion, Information, and Narrative Writing with Lucy Calkins and Colleagues. She worked for over a decade as a national literacy consultant for the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project (TCRWP) based at Columbia University. This work has taken her into K-8 classrooms all over the country to support teachers and administrators with reading workshop, writing workshop, and all aspects of a balanced literacy curriculum. She has been a contributing author to many TCRWP resources, including the Running Records Assessments, the Curriculum Calendars, the Learning Progressions for Writing, and the Performance Assessments for Reading and Writing.

Prior to working as a staff developer and coach, Beth worked with ages birth to preschool, and taught first-grade and fifth-grade. She holds an M.Ed in Curriculum and Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University, and has taught numerous graduate courses at Columbia University.

Beth and her family live in the mountains of northern Vermont, not far from where she grew up. She currently works as a district literacy consultant, graduate course instructor, writer, and editor.
